Life has a way of cutting us off from who we are. Distractions are everywhere, and demands are endless. Our jobs. Our relationships. Our children. Our communities. Our to-do lists grow and our to-be list is non existent.
Don’t you know?? We are human BEINGS not human doings. It’s time to reclaim what is ours: BODY, MIND, and SPIRIT.
The problem is that the simplicity of the solution just doesn’t make sense to our over taxed, over worked, over stressed minds. What if there was a simple solution? What if that solution began with just 5 minutes a day? 5 minutes? And not 5 extra minutes for you to be serving someone or something else. No. 5 minutes to serve YOURSELF.
Meditation is the simple yet profound answer to our disconnect. It’s time to come back to who we are. Time to rediscover the connection between our bodies, minds, and spirits. Time to be present again, time to breathe, time to just BE.
An old Chinese proverb reads: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
I believe the same is true of our meditation journey. I just takes one small step in the right direction, one simple 5 minute practice of stillness of quiet to begin a total transformation from the inside out.
